High rating, but like the Joe Gunther books. This one has Joe and his crew investigating the shooting of a Sheriffs Deputy while making a traffic stop. Indications from the dash camera indicates that the passenger has slipped out of the car and around to the sheriff's door and shooting him. The police have a name from the dispatch records and the name links to drug trafficking, so they are hard on the trail, which leads them to joining up with Maine's Drug enforcement agency and spending time on the Maine coast. The case eventually returns to Joe's territory as they wrap things up.
