Brunonia Barry - The Lace Reader - Finished - 3/29/2009

A very different book set in Salem MA. about 1996, it revolves around Towner Whitney, a twin and a young with a troubled past who returns from California when she learns that her Aunt Eve has gone missing. The women Towner's expanded family have various connections with Lace, either the creating of it or reading it, as in foreseeing the future in it. The story moves from the current time to Towner's past as various threads converge as the book comes to the end. Not really a mystery although there is mystery in it, not really a love story although there is love in it, its more like a family/place history from Towny's point of view. Not my normal fare, but I am glad I took the plunge.
