(484 pages large print) King Henry II has again called upon Adelia (Mistress of the Art of Death) to travel to Glastonbury Abey to determine of two unearthed skeletons are those of King Arthur and Guinevere. Henry is trying to put down a rebellion in Wales and he wants to prove the the Welch hero is dead and not returning to lead the rebels. Adelia, Mansur, Gyltha and Adelia's daughter Allie have to contend with any number of problems as they make their way to the Abbey and even more when they discover the Abby has been burned to the ground along with most of the town of Glastonbury. The also encounter resistance from locals who believe strongly in Arthur's return. All in all a delightful trip back to the 1100s English country side albeit not a place we of the 21st century would be very comfortrable.
