Ali Reynolds is in the midst of rehabbing her new house when her contractors wife is discovered murdered and he is the prime suspect. Ali becomes involved in finding the real killer but not before coming face to face with him and she being on the wrong side of a 357 magnum before managing to turn the tables with the help of her mother. I don't want to say more so as not to spoil the story. Light suspense and I always like Jance's books.
